Wall and floor or ceiling openings may affect the structure, utilities and fire compartments. An enquiry therefore starts with drawings and a clear purpose. Responsible specialists must assess it before any execution agreement.
Drawings and opening locations
Structure and structural checks
Agree fire stopping
Additional works by enquiry
Core drilling, service openings and other construction work are assessed for technical feasibility, qualified providers and contract terms first.
01
Possible scope by agreement
Describe location, dimensions, building component and intended service route.
Clarify interfaces with structural, electrical, plumbing, ventilation and fire-protection planning.
Plan protection of adjacent areas, material removal and subsequent making good separately.
02
Prepare your enquiry
Provide existing drawings, component details and the proposed openings.
Identify approvals and the responsible designers or qualified contractors.
Agree operating hours, adjacent areas, access and required closures.
No execution without resolved structural and technical requirements. Fire stopping, waterproofing and installations are separate services; suitability and documentation are agreed with the responsible qualified contractor.
Outcome and handover
Before an order, execution limits and responsibilities must be clear in writing. Subsequent acceptance follows the separately agreed specialist scope.
What determines a suitable quote?
Area alone is not enough for a reliable estimate. Construction stage, materials, soiling, access, timing and agreed extras affect the work involved. A site visit or further details may be needed; the price is set in the specific quote.
